Thinkers Play Jesus

Your head could be in this! Monday, September 28: When you’re down, worried about socialism, and convinced that Obama is Hitler, Ronald Reagan will always be there. Today, the Heritage Foundation once again honors this man.  [Heritage Foundation]

  • Wednesday, September 30: All left leaning, Christian millennials like to help people and therefore detest capitalism. AEI will now teach them what Jesus never could: the necessary and important relationship between the free enterprise system and values. [AEI]
  • Thursday, October 1: And now for some sobering health care fun: Cato is hosting the author of “How American Health Care Killed My Father” to talk about the failures of our health care system from an economic standpoint. [CATO]
  • Thursday, October 1: The Urban Institute has not hosted an event since June, which is fine because absolutely nothing important happened over the summer. They’re back and talking taxes with Senator Wyden, a choice-lovin’ democrat. [Urban Institute]
  • Friday, October 2: New America Foundation wants all unemployed ‘09 policy grads to know that their real calling is to write for Gossip Girl. [New America Foundation]

    AEI plays jebus:

Jebus is some brown guy in Iranistan who might have nukes, for all we know.

So let’s blow his ass up right now, know what we’re sayin’?!!1!

I would rename the Heritage Foundation seminar:

Ronald Reagan is dead just like his brain was 15 years before he died. Get over it.

    Fixed.

From the CATO (glad to see that he’s moved on after Inspector Clouseau’s death) seminar: “David Goldhill is a Democrat and a business executive who paid little attention to the economics of health care before his father’s life was cut short by a hospital-acquired infection.” Nice of them to provide his ABSOLUTELY UNIMPORTANT political affiliation…

Jay W. Richards [...] will lead a discussion of the way in which the free enterprise system can be used to meet the biblical mandates to alleviate poverty, care for the sick, and steward our environmental resources.

Contributing 10% weekly to groups that will only dole out their gains to similarly-minded poors that don’t smell like cheap cigarettes when they walk through the nave.

This is the second event of a new initiative of the American Enterprise Institute to engage young people in a conversation about the relationship between the free enterprise system and values.

The first event was called “Sunday School.”

It’s a shame that Reagan was not Catholic. He would have been elevated to sainthood by now. Oh wait, the Repugs have already done that.

Is it possible that market-based solutions are the key to ending poverty, providing health care and education, and raising the standard of living for all?

You know what word isn’t found in the Bible? Capitalism. Now let’s see the AEI explain why God’s a commie and doesn’t approve of their standard solution to every problem: tax cuts and tort reform.

Is it possible that market-based solutions are the key to ending poverty, providing health care and education, and raising the standard of living for all?

    No.

(so what will they do the other 89 minutes and 45 seconds of the event?)

  9. Chickensmack says at 2:55 pm, September 28th, 2009

SayItWithWookies: How come there’s not a market-based solution for the added complexities that come with market-based solutions?

Oh, wait… there is. It’s called “prescription drugs.”

  10. The best, nay, only way to honor Reagan is through repeated watching of that movie where he has Bozo the monkey as his sex toy / chick magnet.

That beats the hell out of Kindergarden Cop

  11. Bruno: Hmm, so in Kindergarden Cop the chick magnet is a young boy.

    How republican
